Personalized Stationery

Personalized Stationery

Personalized note-cards and personalized stationery have begun to make a significant comeback! It is thought that the economic difficulties many are enduring has led to a desire for a simpler lifestyle. It's only logical that etiquette and manners have once again become important to more of our society, as well as small luxuries like stationery and cards. Anyone who does a lot of writing will appreciate personalized stationery, as will anyone who receives correspondence on that stationary. That makes it a lovely hostess gift, and will also represent a good, small gift for anyone. You could even expect to receive a thank you card, written on the same stationery.

Both genders are equally able to appreciate the elegance of personalized stationery. Although for many years women were more likely to be in charge of letter writing, that is no longer necessarily true. In an informal study conducted in 2010, it was established that more people would like to get a well written letter, than an email or text message. It was indicated that to many people, a well-written letter on actual stationary seemed classier and more elegant than the other alternatives.

Benefits of Letter Writing

It has been stated that letter writing is something of a dying habit. Letter writing includes benefits that other forms of communication do not. These benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • The tangible experience of reading and re-reading letters, allows a greater understanding of the material. In some families, letters have become treasures to be handed down from one generation to another.
  • Professionals will frequently benefit from anything that brands their name, or company name, in the minds and files of other people.
  • Job seekers have long been able to set themselves apart from other potential employees, by sending letters of interest, as well as thank you notes after an interview. Comporting yourself professionally, both verbally and in writing, is an excellent way to get the new job you want.
  • When trying to reconnect with someone that you have not spoken to in some time, it is often easier to write a letter than it is to speak on the phone. You are able to more closely govern what you say, and avoid uncomfortable silences.

Appearance of Your Stationery

The look of a clean piece of stationery, with only your name, title, and contact information is generally considered to be more professional. Therefore it's only logical that anything whimsical like cartoon or fantasy creatures, or anything that shares something of your personality, is seen as a more personal form of stationery. You will also need to decide ink color and font choice, as part of the personalization process.

Anytime that you choose to take a few extra moments of your time to send an actual letter to someone, it is sure to be appreciated. At the same time, you're encouraging others to write back, and then you'll remember how fun it is to get a letter.
